また、カラマンダリンと吉浦ポンカンを交配した「南津海（なつみ）」という品種のことを「カラマンダリン」として出荷している場合もある。
4月上旬に完熟するため、減酸してから４～５月に出荷する晩成みかんです。

青島温州（晩生種）は、早生みかんの収穫が終わった11月下旬頃から収穫が始まります。
早生みかんより一回り大きく見栄えがあり、扁平で平べったい形が特徴です。
味は糖度が高く、適度な酸味があり、濃い味のコクのあるミカンです。
知名度の高さから「青島三ケ日みかん100％ジュース」なども販売されています。
