晩生種の桃で、３番目に多く作られている品種です。
果肉はやや硬めで歯ごたえがあり、ほんのり赤く日持ちがよいのが特徴です。
糖度が高くコクのある味わい。
硬めの果肉なので、コンポートなどにもおすすめです。

The post ワッサー first appeared on 丸友中部青果.]]> ワッサーとは、桃とネクタリンが自然交配して出来た果物です。特徴は、その両方の親の持ち味を受け継ぎ、桃の甘さ&ネクタリンの酸味が絶妙なバランスの食味になっています。甘いだけの果物が苦手という方にもオススメです。そして、果肉が固めでしっかりとしているため、歯応えがあって、果汁で手も汚れにくく食べやすい果物です。また、固いモノが苦手という方は、少し置いてから試してみて下さい。追熟して、柔らかくジューシーな食味に変わります。
ちなみに、この独特な名前は、この品種の育てた方の子供時代の愛称から名付けられたそうです。

The post ネクタリン first appeared on 丸友中部青果.]]> ネクタリンは桃の仲間です。ツバキモモ（椿桃）/ ヒカリモモ（光桃）/ アブラモモ（油桃）など、色々な別名があります。桃と違うのは表面に毛がなく、つるつるしているところ。果肉の色は黄色又は赤、種が取れやすいので食べやすいのも特長です。食味は桃より酸味が強いですが甘味があり、肉質が締まっています。生食の他、ジャムやゼリーなど応用範囲が広いフルーツです。
語源はギリシャ神話に由来します。青春と美の女神「ヘベ」は、神々の宴で酒をお酌するのが役目ですが、彼女が振舞ったお酒が『霊酒ネクタル』。これがネクタリンの語源です。
ちなみに、酔っ払いを指す「へべれけ」という言葉は、「Hebe erryeke（ヘベ・エリュエケ＝女神ヘベのお酌）」というギリシャ語から作られた日本語だそうです。
